PERKINS TWP.

A new pumper truck that should arrive by December or January will help keep insurance rates down for businesses and homeowners, Perkins Township officials said.

The department is buying a $400,000 Sutphen pumper with money generated from a fire levy. Trustees approved the purchase earlier this year, trustee Bill Dwelle said. The new truck replaces a 20-year-old pumper.
