When a newspaper goes too far, people get hurt. The Sandusky Register has gone way too far. The Hemmer family is obviously hurting, and the Sandusky Register is making it worse. The family just wants to stay out of the news and try to get back to their lives. But, when people won't let things go, it just hurts the heart even more.
To print the article, "Don't shoot my mother", after almost two months and the week before Mother's Day represents an insensitivity for human feeling and human life. Everyone knows what happens, but not everyone knows what it feels like until it happens to them. Being close to this family, I know the feeling. Just please leave the family alone. They've been through enough, and the Register has made it much worse then it had to be. Let it go.
