It's time to start strapping electronic ankle bracelets on county prisoners a lot more often, the Erie County commissioners and Sheriff Terry Lyons say.
Both said they have advocated the idea for years.
Increased pressure to relieve pressure on the county jail and a more receptive attitude among local judges may allow for increased use of electronic monitoring device, the commissioners said.
"The current batch of judges are very interested in it," Commissioner Tom Ferrell said.
