SANDUSKY

The owner of the Crowbar is awaiting a preliminary hearing to be set in Sandusky Municipal Court for his theft charge.

Michael A. McAran, 40, 400 block of Euclid Ave., Bellevue, was arrested last month on a theft charge. An anonymous person called Columbia Gas and said the utility was being stolen from an apartment in the 200 block of W. Market St., police said.

Sandusky firefighters checked out the line and then notified police. An illegal gas line was hooked up to the Crowbar, the police report said. Police said nearly $2,000 in gas was stolen.

McAran has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
