NORWALK

Thieves stole a CVS truck they thought was loaded with drugs, but instead got diapers and shampoo, police say.

Newport police Det. Lynn Shults believes that the person who stole the trailer with a CVS logo emblazoned on its side from a truck stop in Newport, Tenn., must have thought they hit the jackpot.

But then the trailer -- which only contained $75,000 worth of shampoo, diapers and other toiletries -- turned up in the parking lot ofNorwalk Waste Materials, at 4957 MilanAve., with everything still inside.

"I think they were looking for those big gallon jugs of OxyContin, but we were looking here at Tampax," Shults said.

CVS officials from Newport are traveling toNorwalk to retrieve the truck.
