A Fostoria woman accused of smuggling prescription opiates into the Huron County jail and giving them to other inmates has been indicted.

Mindy L. Gallagher, 22, faces nine felony charges related to the accusations, which ultimately lead to the death of one of the inmates who took the drugs.

Jesika Skelton, 20, died March 11 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, days after she, Gallagher and two other inmates were taken to the hospital after showing signs of apparent drug abuse.

Gallagher had smuggled the pills into the jail inside her body, deputies said. Then she gave them to as many as nine other inmates, who ingested them.

Gallagher is charged with theft of drugs, illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility and seven counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs.

The jail is partially at fault here for not inspecting her properly.  I can appreciate the difficulty of inspecting someone's crotch but perhaps a x-ray machine is needed.

Sort of looks like a younger Courtney Love.  Her choice in life was drugs also.
