A flood warning continues to be in effect for the Huron River near Milan. As of 4 a.m. the stage of the river was 19 feet and rising. Minor flooding has already occurred and major flooding is forecast.
The river will continue to rise and crest at 23 feet this afternoon. At 24 feet, major flooding occurs in Franklin Flats and floodwaters begin to impact areas near Mud Brook Road.
Flood watch continues for north-central Ohio
A flood watch remains in effect today for Erie, Huron, Ottawa and Lorain counties until noon today. Between an inch and an inch and a half of rain fell across the area overnight and occasional showers are expected to continue today.
Flooding will spread quickly this morning in any areas that experience additional heavy rainfall.
