Bars ready for Buckeye fans

Kick-off for the BCS National Championship game between OSU and LSU is quickly approaching and area bars and restaurants are hoping the occasion will replace a dismal-like Monday night crowd with a weekend-like atmosphere.

For those who didn't make the trip to New Orleans, there are a variety of drink and food specials at area establishments.

Cabana Jacks, 202 Columbus Ave. -- Cabana Jacks is offering $1 drafts during the game, $5 medium one-topping pizza, $7 large one-topping pizza and 30-cent wings.

Daly's Irish Pub, 104 Columbus Ave. -- Daly's is offering $4 pitchers of domestic drafts, $3 bombs, $2.50 24-ounce cans of beer and enough tvs so no moment of action goes missed.

"Heck, we've got 10 tvs down here for the game," said Manager Ryan Brunow.

Pub & Grub Restaurant and Tavern, 1504 Milan Road, -- Pub & Grub will extend their happy hour specials on beer during the game and are running a shrimp special with 30 cents per shrimp in house, 35 cents per shrimp to go.

Brass Pelican Varsity Club, 414 W. Perkins Ave. -- The Pelican will have $2 bowls of gumbo and a best dressed fan contest. The winner of the contest will get free wings for a year.

Cameo Pizza, 702 W. Monroe St. -- Cameo is running pizza and happy hour specials including two large two-topping pizzas for $19.95. There are also three plasma tvs at the bar and eight tvs in the restaurant.

"It's the greatest place to watch the game and the best food in Sandusky," said Jess Gundlach, Cameo Pizza.
