About the findings of that United Nations panel on global warming: In reality this is a 1,500 year cycle of warming, then COOLING, of the earth's atmosphere .So says S. Fred Singer, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Sciences, University of Virginia.Further, he (a scientist, not a politician) tells us that in spite of the cyclical increase in "greenhouse gases" (mostly carbon dioxide -- which, when I went to high school biology, was the stuff plants used to put oxygen back into the atmosphere -- the temperature of the earth has NOT increased in the last eight years.
In the 1970s there was a consensus that we were bringing on to ourselves a new ice age. What happened to that "consensus"? Since when does science operate on a "consensus" basis?
Only about a dozen members of the American Meteorlogical Society voted to make up the consensus about man-made global warming?
So why the hysteria? Somebody is going to make a pile of money from this so-called crises. And the bill will be paid, as usual, by the American taxpayers.
