SANDUSKY

The Firelands chapter of the American Red Cross is providing temporary housing, food and other essential household goods to the 18 people affected by a Columbus Avenue apartment building fire Thursday evening.

About $7,000 has been allotted for the assistance, according to Ron Rude, executive director.

"That could increase to more than $10,000," he said.

Those wishing to help can make donations to the Firelands chapter of the American Red Cross, earmarked for Local Disaster Assistance. Donations may be brought in person to the office at 300 Central Ave., Sandusky, or mailed to P.O. Box 835, Sandusky, OH 44870.
