BELLEVUE

Massive flooding throughout the city of Bellevue on Monday morning sent Bellevue police into a frenzy.

The National Weather Service reported at 11:13 a.m. that the U.S. 20 underpass closed as a result of the floods.

Meteorologist Martin Thompson said a stationary storm front hovered over parts of Huron County on Sunday night and Monday morning, dropping a massive amount of rain in a relatively short amount of time.

Bellevue Fire Department's weather gauge read 2.59 inches of rain fell on the area.

"Just about every street in town is flooded," said a Bellevue Police Dispatcher who was too busy to provide his full name at about 11 a.m. "We got three officers out there right now. I got a couple (volunteer officers) coming in. We're trying to call in off-duty people and that's where at."
