PORT CLINTON

A decision is due Thursday on whether residents who want a referendum vote on the marina district project gathered enough valid petition signatures to force a citywide vote.

Mayor Tom Brown said the petition drive undercuts a Council vote last month changing the zoning classification of Water Works Park to a central business district, which would allow for the construction of hotels, waterparks and a convention center at the site.
