FREMONT

A Clyde man pleaded guilty Wednesday to starting at least 12 fires between February and September last year.

Justin Chill, 26, of Clyde, pleaded guilty to five counts of aggravated arson and seven counts of arson.

In September, four of his fires damaged almost 10 vehicles and a barn owned by Charles Riehl, who lives on County Road 185 in Clyde.

Riehl owned two pickup trucks that received an estimated $500 in damage.

Chill also stuffed a rag into the gas tank of a phone company van and lit it on fire.

Police caught Chill fleeing the scene of one of the fires.
