Bored with the Register? You don't have to be.
We are interested in starting a new page in the paper and Web site geared solely toward 13- to 18-year-olds.
Here's the problem: No one at the Register is between the ages of 13 and 18.
We need to know what you want so we can make the page and Web site all about you and your interests. This can include anything from pinpointing types of stories you want to read to blogging or MySpace-style profiles only for area students.
If you don't help, you'll end up with a page in the paper made by people who THINK they know what "youngsters" want.
Without your help, we may end up with a site that includes phrases like "Talk to the hand" and "You go girl" -- the phrases people used to say but don't anymore, but no one ever told adults.
We’re looking for a variety of students from all area schools. This includes everyone from the girl that sits in the front row and answers every question to the athlete who practices his signature during math class — just in case he goes pro. Artistic and opinionated types are welcome.
If you want to be a part of this, meet with us at 6:30 p.m. June 19 at Cameo Pizza, 702 W. Monroe St.
Pizza’s on us.
If you plan to come, you have to give us the heads up. Call me at 419-609-5853 or send an e-mail to another untrendy phrase, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Notice how “holler” is NOT spelled “holla.” See how uncool these pages would be without your input?
