Ginger Cusano and her shop, The Occasional Cookie, are warm, comforting and sweet.
The bakery's display case houses the sweet goodness of pastry twists, coffee cakes and cookies -- all kinds of cookies. There are also pumpkin muffins and pumpkin rolls, but before this story is read they will be gone. Cusano and her crew will have sold 128 pumpkin rolls to accompany the turkey, stuffing and potatoes in various forms that were consumed on Thanksgiving.
Running the bakery is not always so easy.
It can mean long hours with days started at 4 or 5 a.m. to meet customer demand for the delectable baked goods.
