HURON

A 47-year-old New London man who nearly caused several motorists to crash on U.S. 6 was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Bradford Lee, first block of Fitchville River Road, was traveling west in the eastbound lane in downtown Huron on U.S. 6 near Williams Street, according to a Huron police report.

Two vehicles traveling eastbound "had to hit their brakes" as Lee pulled his green truck off the road into a parking lot, the report stated.

Lee told the investigating officer he was on his way to Kent State to see his son graduate and had consumed "two or three beers" while golfing earlier in the day, the report stated.
