Agency offering preparedness training course

A 20-hour course in personal preparedness, fire and utility safety, triage and first aid, search and rescue, emotional effects of disaster, and terrorism awareness will be taught by local North Coast CERT volunteers.

The course will be Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9 p.m. starting April 7 and running through April 23, with a field exercise on May 3 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Classes will be held at Huron County EMA, 255-B, Shady Lane Drive, Norwalk.

Registration is not mandatory, but appreciated, by calling 419-663-5772 or emailing volunteer@  northcoastcert.com  . The course is free, and all books and materials will be provided.
