50 years ago, 1964: Holzaepfel Bros., Downtown Sports Center, advertised a new Argus Autronic II color-slide camera for $109.95, complete with case and flash attachment. The 550 Color Slide Projector was on sale for just $59.95.
25 years ago, 1989: Cruise ships were accused of covering up serious outbreaks of gastrointestinal illness at sea and faced a federal crackdown, U.S. Surgeon General's office said. Ships had been known to report no illnesses when in fact they had as many as 240 people aboard suffering from stomach disorders.
10 years ago, 2004: Cedar Point's parent company Cedar Fair L.P. said it would eliminate its fiercest competitor - by buying it: Six Flags Worlds of Adventures. The company announced the $145 million transaction of the 690-acre park in Aurora, Ohio.
