50 years ago, 1964: A Franklin, Ohio student was expelled from classes for wearing his hair like the Beatles. He refused to comb his hair in conventional style, combing it straight down with no part. The school board voted 4 to 1 to expel him.
25 years ago, 1989: The city of Sandusky proposed a tentative schedule for the relocation of Sandusky's city hall and construction of Parkvue Place retirement center. The project was expected to cost over $15 million and take over seven years to complete.
10 years ago, 2004: A student in central Germany was accused of stealing electricity - less than a penny's worth. Police busted the student after he plugged his laptop into an outlet at a train station.
