Two store employees and their managers contacted Perkins police Sunday morning after discovering the devices were missing from their locked drawer, according to a police report. The employees told police they had closed the kiosk the night before and were certain they secured them.

When they arrived Sunday morning to open the store, however, only three phones were left in the drawer. In their report, police said the door didn’t appear damaged or pried open.

One employee told police she suspects someone could pull the drawer hard enough to open it, even if it was locked, because it’s flimsy, according to the report.

The store manager provided police with serial numbers for the stolen cell phones. Officers forwarded the report to their detectives to investigate the incident further. Surrounding surveillance video cameras may have recorded the incident, according to the report.
