Man tried to lie about identity

George Erin Robinson, 34, 2000 block Foxborough Circle, was charged with identity fraud and obstruction, and arrested on three outstanding warrants.

Around 1:20 a.m., a Sandusky police officer offered to assist a Perkins police officer with a traffic stop at Sadler Street and West Perkins Avenue, according to a Sandusky police report.

Robinson claimed his first name was Erin and presented a Michigan identification card with that name the said. When officers searched a crime database, no information on “Erin Robinson” appeared, the report said.

Robinson then gave officers a Social Security number — but the database showed that number belonged to a white Toledo man, the report said.

Robinson also said he lived at 1014 Shelby St., an address that does not exist.

As officers prepared to drive him to Shelby Street to point out the home, Robinson provided his real Social Security number, and they learned he had three active Sandusky warrants for failure to appear, the report said.
