50 years ago, 1963: A Cleveland court convicted a 33-year-old woman of contributing to the her teen-age daughter's delinquency by telling her about birth control methods. The 16 year-old unmarried mother of three said her mother told her where to buy birth control, but she didn't listen.
25 years ago, 1988: The mummified body of a man was found stuffed in a chimney above a retail department store after Philadelphia police received an anonymous tip. Officials said they could not determine how long the unidentified body had been inside the chimney.
10 years ago, 2003: A study revealed that 31 percent of Americans were "highly tech-savvy" people for whom the internet, cell phones and hand held organizers were more indispensable than TV's and old-fashioned wired phones.
