50 years ago, 1963: Since July of 1963 six new cases of tuberculosis were reported in Erie County. During the first six months of 1963, 30 cases were reported. A recent outbreak in Huron County had 13 new cases, 11 centered in Willard.
25 years ago, 1988: A night clerk at the Days Inn reported to Perkins Township police that he was robbed at gunpoint. The robber pointed his gun at him, stole $417 from the cash register, forced him to stay in the restroom, then bowed and said "thank you" before leaving.
10 years ago, 2003: Retail gas prices dropped more than 4 cents per gallon. Average price for a gallon of gas nationwide was about $1.55, that was a decrease of 4.33 cents per gallon since October 2003.
