Billy Crawford, 28, 1100 block W. Washington St., was charged with felony drug trafficking, dangerous drug possession, heroin possession, misdemeanor drug paraphernalia, and seat belt and left of center violations.

Sandusky police pulled Crawford over Monday at about 4 p.m. after they spotted his vehicle leaving a known drug area and watched it travel left of center, according to a police report.

Officers found nothing illegal on Crawford’s passenger, and they noticed Crawford’s young son in the backseat, the report said. They then located 10 oxycodone pills in Crawford’s pocket and heroin wrapped in paper that had been tucked between the center console and driver’s seat, the report said.

Officers charged Crawford with trafficking due to the number of pills he carried, then upgraded the charge to a third-degree felony, because his child was with him, the report said.

Crawford allowed his friend to drive the boy home, while he was taken to the Erie County jail. Crawford remains there on $20,000 bond.
