50 years ago, 1963: President Kennedy led the nation's 10th Veteran's Day celebration by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. Kennedy honored Americans who died in war, and more than 22 million living veterans.
25 years ago, 1988: The trial to determine whether or not the X-rated movie video "Making a Porno Movie," was obscene was scheduled to begin in Norwalk Municipal Court. The jury would be asked to decide whether the movie depicted sexual conduct in an offensive way.
10 years ago, 2003: Uttering the word "guilty" 48 times with chilling calm, Gary Leon Ridgeway admitted he was the Green River Killer and confessed to strangling four dozen women over two decades - "so many women I have a hard time keeping them straight."
