Baumann Auto Center, one of 16 Chevrolet dealers from the Toledo area that partnered with local youth baseball leagues for the 2013 baseball program, has concluded a successful season with Port Clinton Youth Baseball and Softball League.

Baumann Auto Center provided Port Clinton Youth Baseball and Softball League with new equipment and a monetary contribution and an opportunity for community members to enter the free Chevrolet Area Youth Baseball Baseball and Softball League.

In addition, the dealership helped donate either a Chevy Malibu or a Chevy Traverse as the grand prize for a free regional sweepstakes. The winner of the sweepstakes selected their choice between the two vehicles.

In 2013, more than 1,600 Chevrolet dealers participated in Chevy Youth Baseball. Since the program began in 2006, Chevrolet has made a positive impact on more than 3.6 million children by bringing a unique experience to their community.

FRMC receives Excellence in Engagement

Firelands Regional Medical Center has been awarded The Advisory Board Company’s 2013 Excellence in Engagement Award — one of only 20 organizations nationwide to receive this award.

The annual award recognizes top-performing hospitals and health systems nationwide for outstanding levels of employee engagement. Employees took a survey to measure the employee engagement at Firelands. The survey questioned employees on work environment and the organization as a whole, for example.

Engaged employees, as defined by the advisory board, are those who exhibit both loyalty and commitment to the organization. These employees are willing to expend discretionary effort, often going above and beyond to help the organization succeed. The award recognizes Firelands Regional Medical Center’s commitment to creating a best-in-class work environment for its employees.
