A Sandusky woman was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly tried to stab her brother with a kitchen knife.
Sparkle Latoya Yvonne Miller, 32, of the 1400 block of Clinton St., was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.
Sandusky police went to the Clinton Street home of Miller’s sister shortly after 9 p.m., after the woman reported a dispute between her two siblings, according to a Sandusky police report.
Both Miller and her brother had left the house by the time officers arrived, but Miller’s sister briefed police on the detailsof the fight, the report said.
Miller and her brother had been at their sister’s house most of the evening when out of nowhere, Miller stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen, the report said. When she returned to the living room, Miller allegedly had a kitchen knife in hand.
Miller allegedly jumped on her brother and tried to stab him, the report said. Her sister stepped in and tried to wrestle the knife from her grip, to no avail.
At that point, Miller ran from the house, still carrying the knife. Her brother left the house, too, because he was upset over the incident, the report said.
Miller’s brother avoided injuries only because he was wearing a heavy flannel jacket when he was assaulted, the report said.
Officers arrested Miller at her home nearby. She refused to say where she stashed the knife, and officers were unable to find it after searching the home.
Miller refused to comment on the night’s events, and officers were unable to question her brother, as they were not able to locate him, the report said.
Miller was taken to the Erie County jail and held without bond.
