50 years ago, 1963: Theodore Westerhold was elected Knight of the Month at the Sandusky Council Knights of Columbus meeting. Westerhold was citied for his many years of outstanding work on behalf of the Sandusky Council.
25 years ago, 1988: The failure of the U.S. to close its huge trade deficit cost the country as many as 5.1 million jobs during 1987 alone, the Economic Policy Institute reported. Millions of employment positions were lost to foreign competition, 60 percent in manufacturing and 40 percent related to industry.
10 years ago, 2003: Three Michigan women were found in various stages of undress in a hot tub at a local hotel according to Perkins Township police reports. A security guard who told the ladies to leave, noticed one was nude and the other two were partially nude. They were charged with disorderly conduct.
