50 years ago, 1963: The Star View Drive-In in Norwalk was playing "Juvenile Jungle," "Young and Wild," and "The Wayward Girl." Sandusky Drive-In Theatre was showing "Francis in the Haunted House," "Abbot and Costello Meet the Mummy," and "Kettles on Old McDonald's Farm."
25 years ago, 1988: The price of solving the nation's savings and loan problem could reach $65 billion, announced the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. The FDIC estimated the price for closing or selling more than 500 insolvent thrifts.
10 years ago, 2003: A 91-year-old man who walked with a cane and was hard of hearing pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $2,000 from a bank, his third such robbery in less than five days. He handed a bank teller an envelope with "Robbery" written on it in and told her to give him the money or she would get hurt.
