Julmonte Leland, 20, 1800 block Sycamore Line, was charged with complicity to aggravated robbery.
In late February, a former classmate of Leland saw him exit a car and approach him on Polk Street, according to a Sandusky police report.
Leland then chatted with the classmate about his newborn child, the report said. Moments later, a second man wearing a bandana over his face approached the pair, held a gun to the classmate’s head, pulling two phones and a pack of cigars from his pockets, the report said.
Leland allegedly stood as a lookout during the robbery, then fled on foot in the same direction as the gunman.
His classmate identified Leland in a photo lineup, and though Leland admitted speaking with someone who was robbed at gunpoint, denied all involvement, the report said.
Officers arrested Leland the next day for complicity to robbery and theft, the report said.
In May, an Erie County grand jury indicted Leland on complicity to aggravated robbery and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Monday morning, Sandusky police officers finally located Leland and arrested him on that indictment. Leland was taken to the Erie County jail and held on $40,000 bond.
