50 years ago, 1963: The Sandusky Foundry and Machine Co. asked city commission to approve construction of a $250,000 extension of the plant at Market and Decatur streets. The extra room would be used to produce centrifugal casings.
25 years ago, 1988: Seaway Food Town Inc. planned to spend nearly $1 million to transform the closed Cook's department store into the first "Food Town Plus" store in the Sandusky area. Cooks closed in 1987. The new grocery was to create up to 150 new jobs.
10 years ago, 2003: The Boston Archdiocese agreed to pay $85 million to 552 people who claimed sexual abuse by Roman Catholic priests devastated their lives.
