Chad Coleman, 39, of the 600 block of E. Monroe St., was charged with felonious breaking and entering.
Jason Ninke, owner on Ninke Lawn Service, found a television and multiple gas cans missing when he went to work early Wednesday morning, but each of the business’s entrances were undisturbed, according to a Sandusky police officer.
Surveillance footage showed Coleman, who was fired in August, entering the building three times that night, the officer said. Coleman allegedly made off with several full gas cans on his first trip, and a television on his final trip.
Police are unsure if he stole anything on the final trip, the officer said.
Ninke suspected Coleman entered the building using a keypad code he was not authorized to have, or by using a stolen door remote, the officer said. Police have yet to recover any of the missing property.
Officers later found Coleman sleeping behind his mother’s garage. He was taken to the Erie County jail and held on $15,000 bond.
