Perkins officer injured in crash

Perkins police Officer Aaron Bramel was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on Strub Road.

Bramel was driving a Perkins police cruiser east on Strub Road when a car pulled out in front of him near Gordon Food Service at about 1 p.m. Bramel's cruiser T-boned the car. He was taken by ambulance to Firelands Regional Medical Center to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office. Deputies are handling the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle, a woman whose name is not immediately available, was cited for failure to yield.
