Two teenage brothers from Seneca County were killed Thursday afternoon in a crash just east of Tiffin, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Fremont post.

Phillip Bollinger, 17, and Dillon Bollinger, 15, both of Bloomville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at about 2:20 p.m. at Township Road 79 and Township Road 8 in Reed Township, just southeast of the village of Republic.

Phillip was driving a 2000 Chevy Cavalier north on Township Road 79. The car failed to stop at a stop sign at Township Road 8, pulling in front of a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer headed east on Township Road 8, troopers said. The Trailblazer struck the Cavalier, sending it off the northeast side of the road, where it struck a tree. The Trailblazer came to rest in the road.

Dillon was the sole passenger in Phillip's vehicle. The Trailblazer's occupants sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver was William Bartley, 47, of Republic, with passengers Crystal Bartley, 48; David Fretz, 71 and Jeannette Fretz, 67, all of Republic

All involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, according to the Highway Patrol. Seneca County deputies, Bloomville paramedics and Seneca County paramedics assisted at the scene. Alcohol is not considered a factor and the crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
