50 years ago, 1963: Koko the Clown, depicted by Mrs. Richard Marshall of Harlequins, Inc., was to entertain the Mothers Federation members and their children at the Coach House Theatre.
25 years ago, 1988: Huron High School took its first championship at the seventh annual Firelands Challenge Competition. Edison and Vermilion schools tied for second. Finals were held at Edison High School. Huron won $1,500 first-place cash award. Edison and Vermilion split the second-place $750 award.
10 years ago, 2003: Sandusky Planning Commission approved plans for extending the outdoor deck at Margaritaville, despite a lengthy conversation about noise. Sandusky Commissioner John Ginty attended the meeting and suggested sound baffling or shrubbery to absorb noise.
