A drunken couple visiting Sandusky from Cleveland caused a ruckus in a Castaway Bay hotel room Saturday night, waking several guests while arguing in front of their two young children.

Sandusky police arrived at about 11 p.m. Saturday and found Jessica Olmstead, 27, with two girls, ages 6 and 10 months. The room smelled heavily of marijuana and alcohol, according to a police report.

Olmstead was visibly intoxicated and kept telling officers she was a “good mother,” according to the report. She received three phone calls from her boyfriend but he refused to tell her his location.

Philip Alexander, 30, soon returned to the hotel room, also intoxicated. The two argued, waking several hotel guests, and were eventually arrested and taken to Erie County Jail.

Police arranged for family members to pick up the couple’s children. They called Erie County Job and Family Services, whose employees informed Cuyahoga Children and Family Services of the situation.

Both Olmstead and Alexander were charged with two counts of child endangering and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Alexander was also charged with criminal damaging after knocking the ear piece off a phone at Erie County Jail.
