Several Sandusky police officers restrained city resident Justin R. Conley, 33, after a foot chase at about 9 a.m. near Mills and Seneca streets, according to a police report.

An officer reportedly saw Conley speeding and initiated a traffic stop. Conley then allegedly parked the car and began to run away. Officers quickly caught up to Conley, who tried to run around a house.

As officers handcuffed him, Conley reportedly said, “I ran because I have warrants and I didn’t want to go to jail.”

Among suspected actions include a two-count bench warrant, tampering with evidence, possession of heroin, obstructing official business, open container in a motor vehicle, driving under suspension, speeding and failure to wear a seat belt. He’s in the Erie County jail with a bond totaling $18,000.
