“I am very pleased with the progress we have made,” Cedar Fair chief executive officer Matt Ouimet said.
And while some unit holders and stock analysts point to Ouimet for the company’s performance, he is quick to credit the work of everyone who works for the amusement park for its success.
Cedar Fair is operating with a new board and a new leadership team, including a new chief operating officer Richard Zimmerman, chief financial officer Brian Witherow and Kelley Semmelroth, chief marketing officer who is new to Cedar Fair.
2012 saw the company starting on a solid financial plan, including a strategic pay down of debt, which will continue as part of a long- term strategic plan.
To help with attendance Cedar Fair launched online ticket sales and focused on enhancing the guest experience at the park with things such as Fast Lane.
Luminosity, Dinosaur’s Alive, and a rebirth of the haunted house Eden Musee Wax Museum were just a few of the new attractions at the amusement park.
