Thanksgiving dinner served to those who serve

On Thursday almost 100 active military personnel and families related to individuals presently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces got more than just lip service as they dined together during a free Thanksgiving dinner at the Culinary Vegetable Institute off Mudbrook Road.

About 20 volunteers prepared the meal, which included executive chefs  creating dishes made from on-site fruits and vegetables at The Chef’s  Garden.

Among the most delectable foods served: massive portions of succulent  turkey — complete with both light and dark meat with some opting to  drizzle bird bits in gravy — fluffy mashed potatoes and buttery rolls.
