DHG is the place to be for deals, gifts

Dennis and Nancy Gilbert opened up a gem of a family owned thrift shop named DHG‚ at 124 E. Market St. in April.
The Gilberts find the items for resale at auctions and sales. DHG is not a pawn shop.
"We have a lot of people come in and ask," Nancy Gilbert said.
And after years of collecting the Gilberts have a large inventory. Not everything is on display. If a customer is looking for something in particular, the Gilberts may have it in stock or they can keep an eye out for it.
The couple displayed their wares at other shops before deciding to open a store of their own.
"We had our own ideas," Nancy Gilbert said.
Those ideas guided them to the creation of an eclectic shop with a little bit of everything. New carpeting, paint and floor tile makes the space unrecognizable to those who have been in the building before. The shop is festive right now with Christmas decorations, including Santa, carolers, wise men and lots of Christmas trees. They lend the store warm holiday atmosphere.
The space is divided into mini-departments. There's a women's section and jewelry, household and kitchen items, toys and dolls, including Shirley Temple. If you look around, you'll find a little bit of everything.
Half of a wall displays movies on DVD and VHS. Dennis said they have about 800 titles.
"If you need a certain one it won't take me long to find it," Dennis Gilbert said.
The upper level of the store is decked out as a man cave, with funky neon-lighted beer signs, old school turntables as well as high-end stereo systems, speakers and amps.
But the biggest seller at the store is the cell phones, Dennis Gilbert said.
On display is a white Samsung Galaxy 3 at a bargain price of $95, more than half off retail price.
But anyone buying a phone will have to go to a cell phone provider to activate it, Gilbert said.
On Black Friday the store will be running several specials.
The $3 DVDs will be sold for $1.50. There will be 25 percent off stereo equipment and 10 percent of jewelry.
