John "Jay" Miller Jr., 24, of Vickery, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Aug. 17, 2011, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 4, 1987, in Cleveland, and was a 2007 graduate of Margaretta High School. He received his State Tested Nurses Aide License and was training to become a paramedic. He was employed as a trainer at African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton.

He is survived by his father John (Linda) Miller Sr. of Vickery; his mother Debbie (Ernie) Thomas of Fremont; one sister Loretta Miller of Fremont; five stepsisters, Angel Radney of Florida, Tasha Thomas of Sandusky, Megan Thomas of Cleveland and McKenna and Allison Leckrone of Vickery; grandparents George and Ginny Miller of Vickery and Ernest and Janet Thomas of Florida; aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Loretta Miller and Marie Marsh.

There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate.Please wear casual attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity.
