R.I.P Audrey | Sandusky Register 75 years ago, 1943: Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt returned to Newport News, Va., and christened a new carrier Yorktown. The new ship, a namesake for the gallant carrier sunk in the Pacific after she helped win the battle of Midway, is of the Essed class and reportedly displaces 25,000 tons. The old Yorktown was also christened by Mrs. Roosevelt on April 4, 1936.
