Hayes Avenue resembled a pinballgame Thursday afternoon with a multi-vehicle crash amid the construction cones. Roger James, 57, 200 block E. Market St., drove the wrong way down the street in an Astro van and hit two vehicles just outside the south campus of Firelands Regional Medical Center. Police said he narrowly missed two other vehicles.

Cedar Fair has eased the burden of its crushing $1.5 billion in debt with a new refinancing package that gives itself several more years to pay it off. The company announced Thursday it will issue $500 million of senior unsecured notes. The notes, similar to bonds, will pay interest to its investors and will come due in 2020.

SANDUSKY Sandusky police are investigating a suspected stabbing that occurred Thursday evening in an apartment at 3205 W. Monroe St. They were called out to Apartment 2, in a small complex with two wooden sail boats on the front of the building and the waters of Sandusky Bay visible from the back door.

Frederick Karl "Bud" Krause, 70, Sandusky, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Another local man accused of plotting to attack police officers in an attempt to overthrow the government is back at home. Sandusky resident Kristopher Sickles returned home Wednesday evening. He will be electronically monitored 24 hours a day, like Jacob Ward, Huron, Tina Stone and David Stone Jr., who were released under the same conditions Tuesday.
