Searching for coal tar: Fourth hole drilled today

SANDUSKY If at first you succeed, keep drilling. After apparently finding coal tar last week, the city will drill a fourth hole in the Paper District today, as suggested by Environmental Protection Agency officials.

Gipson faces 25 years to life in prison for role in Harper murder

SANDUSKY Two years after a Sandusky man's murder, the second of two men accused of the crime was found guilty. After a week-long trial at Erie County Common Pleas Court, a jury on Tuesday found Aaron Gipson guilty of one count of complicity to aggravated murder for the March 2008 death of Calvin Harper Jr.

Police: Gang retaliation behind shootings on Hancock, First streets

SANDUSKY Gang retaliation appears to be the motive in Saturday's First Street shooting, police said. At 3:13 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a shooting at Hancock and Reese streets, with officers recovering two shell casings near the intersection there.
