Register photo/ZACH NELSON Branden Oliver, 11, was the last to take the Polar plunge Saturday afternoon. The Polar plunge was put on by the Sandusky police department. Approximately 100 people took the plunge Saturday January 29, 2011.

(UPDATED) Come back around noon on Saturday as I and the rest of our 'Freezedom of the Press' plunge team will be getting ready for the big event and giving live updates in our "Cover It Live" player.

(COVER IT LIVE PLAYER BELOW)
I had to look up the definition of “tuckus” although I was pretty sure I had the right spelling and the right word. One search revealed a “tuckus” is “A non-offensive description for a human posterior.” That’ll work.

The mind must start going at the age of 36 because I don’t know what I am thinking participating in this year’s Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. The local event coordinator Tracey Susana asked me one day if I was participating in this year’s event and for some reason the word “sure” came out of my mouth.
The event is Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Thirsty Pony and I am scheduled to work that day, so why not bring all of you along for my moment of embarrassment as I plunge into ice-cold water. There is also a costume contest prior to the event so any suggestions, not obscene, you have please post them below.
Some of my co-workers are joining me on our team "Freezedom of the Press" to raise money for Special Olympics. If you would like to donate to our team, or start your own, go HERE and submit a donation.
I will be doing a live blog of the morning leading up to the plunge with photos and video of whatever I can find. You can watch the live blog during the the day of the plunge by coming back here.

Really, "thehartleys says", I went to yiddishdictionaryonline and "tuches" came up NO MATCH COULD BE FOUND.

However, tuckus was found in urban dictionary.

The yiddish is spelled tuches.  It means "that which you are going to freeze during your polar plunge."   But you're doing it for a great cause, so more power to you!

How fitting that Andy Dunn and son Caleb are in the background. Little did we all know that it would be Andy's last plunge. RIP #2083
