Phyllis J. Benner, Sept. 21, 1909-Feb. 2, 2012

Phyllis J. Benner, 102, of Sandusky, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 2, 2012, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky.

She was born Sept. 21, 1909, in Macedonia, Ohio. Phyllis graduated from Macedonia High School and attended Kent State University for two years. She was employed by JC Penney, Co. for 20 years, prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sandusky.
She is survived by her close friends, Barbara Wendt and Larry and Betty Fitzpatrick, all of Sandusky, and other friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Walter E. Benner, in 2002, and her parents, Frank and Ovida (Herbert) Jenkins.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, until a funeral at 10:30 a.m. at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave. The Rev. Bob Machovec will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery, Northfield, Ohio.
