Antonette M. Grimm, July 13, 1926-June 16, 2011

Antonette M. “Toni” Grimm, 84, of Sandusky, passed away early Thursday morning, June 16, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.

She was born July 13, 1926, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., daughter of the late Pietro “Peter” and Mary (Vissari) Ricotta. She was a 1944 graduate of Ramsey High School in Mount Pleasant. Toni worked at Foster Grant for 20 years, retiring in 1988. After retiring, she worked at Berardi’s Restaurant and volunteered for 10 years at Care And Share.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, but she truly loved cooking and baking with her family — especially her sisters. Toni was a true sports fan as she enjoyed following the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church where she was active on the bereavement committee, Altar Rosary Society and other committees/activities at the church.

She is survived by two sons, James A. (Marie) Grimm of Castalia and Richard P. “Rich” (Emma) Grimm of Monroeville; daughter, Kathleen (Robert) Duddy of Falmouth, Maine; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Ricotta of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Margaritte (Andy) Harenchar of Mount Pleasant; nieces and nephews; and good family friend, Karen Pricket.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. “Tex” Grimm (Jan. 31, 2001); and four brothers, Peter, John, Tony and Anthony Ricotta.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Monday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
