The Mailbag: Will any presidential candidates be stopping by?
Sandusky
Q: A couple years back we had a president candidate election John McCain come to downtown Sandusky. I was wondering if they are planning on having another candidate coming as well. — Sean, a student at Ehove Career Center

A: Thanks for your question Sean. No presidential candidate has announced official plans to visit Sandusky as of yet. That being said, we have a few reporters on the case. Each presidential year the Register has a special project called Chasing the President. We have one reporter assigned to follow the Republican presidential campaign and one reporter to follow to the Democratic presidential campaign. Starting next week, these reporters will report on the progress of each campaign (or campaigns in the case of the Republicans right now) and pester each candidate's staff to plan a visit to our area. We don't know if it will work, but in a state as closely contested as Ohio, we think it would benefit any candidate to put in some face time in the Sandusky area. We're also conveniently located between Toledo and Cleveland, which will both be important stops on the campaign trail. If a candidate does decide to make an appearance in the Firelands, we'll be sure to give it big-time coverage in the newspaper and here at sanduskyregister.com.

The Mailbag is a daily feature on SanduskyRegister.com. Every weekday at noon, we will post one question-and-answer from a resident.

To ask a question, send a letter to The Mailbag at 314 W. Market St., or e-mail mailbag@ sanduskyregister.com. Please include your first name and a location in the e-mail, e.g. “John from Decatur Street."

I mean, who is in charge of this article?  I thought a new question was to be posted every day?  This is the third day this question has been up.  Way to go.

I don't care what party they represent, I enjoyed the last time, being in the presence of a potential President of the United States! Unique opportunity for sure!

Good question
