An attorney for a man accused of attempted murder says she can’t represent him anymore because he won’t pay her and he lies to her.
Convicted drug dealer Demetreaus Keahey may be seeking new counsel if Erie County Common Pleas Judge Roger Binette grants attorney Denise Demmitt’s motion.
Demmitt, of Lakewood, filed a motion Monday to withdraw from the case.
Though she has represented Keahey for 10 years, she hasn’t been paid for her work this year, and said Keahey lied about his ability to pay her, as well as the facts and witnesses in the case, according to the motion.
Keahey faces felony charges for allegedly shooting 29-year-old Prince Hampton in the elbow and the leg during a June confrontation last year.
Police said the shooting was likely a result of an ongoing dispute between the two men, who have children with the same woman.

So much for the attorney-client relationship. Doesn't an attorney have an ethical obligation to not purposely cast his client in a bad light?

After Demmitt withdrew from her case, Elsebeth Baumgartner was next --- and we all know what the old boys and girls in the legal system did to her! The rent-a-judge then appointed an attorney named Cheryl Goodrum. After the clowns got away with giving Harris that harsh five-year prison sentence, Goodrum was given a job as assistant prosecutor in the Erie County prosecutor's office!

Isn't this one of the attorneys that the young black girl Krista Harris had -- the young black girl that was making allegations about Kevin Baxter? The one who got a harsh five-year prison sentence for supposedly stealing $40K from her elderly aunt as her aunt's LEGAL Power of Attorney?
If so, didn't somebody make a comment in another story that this attorney was harrassed and intimidated so bad by the jokes in the Erie County legal system that she withdrew as Harris's attorney? I'm almost POSITIVE it is --- and if so, geez! Wonder if she's getting harrassed and intimidated again to withdraw from THIS case?

Look, if the man didn't pay you a retainer UP FRONT, and the very first thing you found out was a LIE, why did it take you a YEAR to get off the case?
As an attorney, I think you might be a little slow to catch on?????!!!!! He is smiling in his picture because he knows he put one over on you????
Obviously, he wasn't going to make good, or he would have paid you the retainer. Most attorneys won't wait too long, lady. What's up with that?????

I can't fault her at all for wanting off because this d-bag doesn't want to pay her. She didn't spend all those years in college to work for a POS for free. At least with a public defender we can hope that with their heavy case load he becomes just one more that can get sent down quicker.

With the picture posted, it is merely a formality that the next story will be about how the NAACP feels that this attorney is contributing to racial profiling.
