The Mexican Drug Cartels, Terrorists, ect.
I THOUGHT POLICE OFFICERS RECIEVED ENOUGH TRAINING TO AT LEAST HOLD DOWN A PIER, BUT APPARENTLY THEY DO NOT. THE SH_T IS SCAREY AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I WOULDN'T CALL ON THE POLICE TO DO SH_T FOR ME, UNLESS EVERY OTHER OPTION HAD BEEN EXHAUSTED. Resorting to name calling shows you are using this comment section as an outlet for your  anger issues. There are two sides to every story, but it is easy to see you believe that a person is guilty until proven innocent. That is to bad for the people who know you. When I wrote my comment I certainly didn't expect to be judged, my bad.... I was exiting the boat at the end of this fiasco not at the beginning, I wrote what I saw and the tear gas/maize was already sprayed and I had to walk right into it so NO I did not deserve to be sprayed and YES I did have a right to know why they disabled me. I wrote what happened to me and what I saw from the other end of this. The people that got off the boat at the beginning were told and given the chance to get out of there and they seen any fights happening, we did not. I am saying that I was at the wrong place at the wrong time and the cops should have been more careful of the last 20 or so people still exiting before spraying everyone in site, without warning, we were grabbed, pushed and blinded so YES we were innocent. I am not from Sandusky but I read the register everyday. I was aware of the behavior of the SPD, but I kept an open mind about most of the stories, now I have some first hand experience and I am starting to believe what I read.

As for REALITY CHECK.....just so you know...I am not a police officer nor am I related to one.  I am just an ordinary citizen of this city who has respect for officers and am glad to have them here for me and my family and friends if need be.  I know I sleep alot better at night knowing there is one patrolling my neighborhood...hopefully anywayz...if people like yourself would quit complaining about everything they do maybe we could have more.    It is quite evident from your posts and several others in different stories that you are just one of those people who have had to deal with the law with an outcome you did not approve of.  Like I said before...obey the law and have respect for police officers and you will have no problems with them whatsoever.

Mine is able to have a voice just like you... and if people had to guess it sounds like you were one that was arrested.

I was down there and heard straight from one of the females that was pregnant and she said she was on the boat... so get your facts straight cause I heard it straight from her mouth.

and I also witnessed everything and people were fighting in several different areas and it was physical fights between people.  The police yelled at them several times to stop and to disperse from the area and they didn't listen, so I find it funny that your trying to spin the situation your way.

So don't tell people to get their facts straight when I heard it straight from the female.

Why do people always blame the police?     If you act ignorant.....suffer the consequences no matter what they might be.    Grow up people.

If pepper spray was being used...more of a reason to stay out/get out of the way...let the officers do their job.   I have a really hard time believing the police were just "picking on" innocent bystanders...if you were picking someone up...why didn't you stay in your cars when you saw all of this so called mayhem?   I sure would have. 

All of these "innocent" people here...if you are so innocent...why were you in the way?   Why did you not stay on the boat or get to your car asap?  Most people that are arrested claim to be innocent.  Sounds like alot of people were being unruly....listen to the law and there should be no problems.   It's always the officers fault.

More importantly, have all of your injuries photographed and seek professional counseling due to the trauma that you have suffered.

 I am surprised this kind of behavior doesn't occur more frequently. You advertise a booze cruise and then are surprised when alcohol is abused by some to the point where "innocent "bystanders are caught up in the mopping up of the drunken behavior. I am truly living in a world that I do not understand.

   One tip..... when told to do something by an authority figure during a "situation",  just do it and don't ask why or  expect to be treated to a thorough complete answer that you are satisfied with. Just shut up, MYOB, and follow directions.

I was also on the pier and I dont know what you morons were looking at but there were SEVERAL people PHYSICALLY fighting so those who say they werent, are liars!!!  Most of the people arrested were totally out of control and technically there could have been more arrests made.  If you were sprayed with pepper spray then you were involved, there were plenty of people who did not get sprayed, me being one of them.  So again, if you were sprayed then you were being an idiot.  Most people who get arrested are "innocent" so if you are claiming that you were down there and you or your HUSBAND was arrested for nothing....again you are a liar!!!   Amazingly, most people actually left when told to by law enforecement....what a conecept huh??  morons....

yes there was extreme over reaction by spd!!! these guys are a real piece of work... they do so much dirt... and then cover each others mess up!!! what's done in the dark will always come back to lite...if the girl that was slammed up against the cruiser that was pregnant  has any problems with her pregnancy it's there asses!!! guaranteed.....a complaint will be filed....& yes i too was there to meet family coming off the boat, came in contact with that spray and starting choking&gaging I have asthma... they totally created a hostile invironment... because they did not know how to take the time and talk to or confront the person that started this whole mess.... he jumped in the car and  is now scott free!!!! they were scared litlle robo cops....and the idiot police officer that actually let the spray off wow...WHAT A PIECE OF WORK!!!!!!!......please people on here that have the legal authority to help these individuals please do.... I say send them all back through training...... teach them how to deal with crowds.... withought brutality...oh yea heres a good one i heard that  the cop aka pepper sprayer aka records clerk lol??????? told the girl they hit in the face with a flashlight that if she could not identify her attacker there was nothing that could be done wow!!!! i hope she doesn't think that!!!!! cause every one has rights...in a court of law!!! theres always  a few  bad apples that will try and spoil the bunch.....

 Not only was I one of the sober passengers leaving the boat, I was one of the ones pepper sprayed for no reason. My husband was arrested for asking why the crowd was being maced and to look at what they had done to me. I couldn't breathe, they burned my eyes like a bic lighter,thus ruining my contacts, I was throwing up, screaming "What is going on?" while some nice man was yanking me out of the way of the spray so I could breathe, telling me to stay low and run. I have the bruises on my wrist to prove it.  We were aware that a fight had broken out "ON THE TRIP BACK, NOT ON THE PIER"  and that police were called to handle the problem. We seen all the police cars when we docked so we actually waited until almost the end to exit so all the drama would be over. These punk cops acted like we were all criminals and didn't care who they sprayed, hurt or arrested. I seen a young girl hit on the head with a flash light. I seen a pregnant girl getting maced and I am not the only innocent one that got maced. I am still sick today from the effects of the spray and I won't be able to see until Tuesday when I can get my contacts replaced. This is not over with, we are calling our lawyers Monday morning and I am sure we are not the only ones. Thank God this wasn't a drug bust or even bigger, the rest of us probably would have been killed. By the way, these yahoo's didn't even read anyone their rights!

I was there to and what I observed was a pregnant teen Slammed and hit repeatedly by spd innocent people asking questions pepper sprayed and slammed handcuffed citizens hit while in custody and a lot of language from police officers that was uncalled for.Another pregnant woman pepper sprayed and then told to drive and when she didn't comply being she couldn't see from the riot spray can used she was. Arrested to innocent people were hurt for no reason thanks to sandusky police to protect and serve huh lolololololol

I completly understand the fact that people fighting should be handled in a manner that is enforced by the police; however, innocent people were also involved and sprayed with pepper spray.  I was there and sober picking up people and being a responsible driver to those that did particpate in the cruise and feel that these people were just bystanders.  It created unnessary chaos and created more of an issue than it needed to be.  The people that were fighting should have been the ones that were arrested and sprayed not  also the people that were trying to have a good time and did not even realize that a fight was going on untill they got off the boat!!!!!  Just my persepective on a bad situation that became totally out of hand and did not need to be as bad as it was.

 I dont see the point of having a bunch of drunk people on one boat anyway. Hence, the name "booze cruise".  I wasnt there,drunk or sober, but I am glad the trouble started after the boat was docked. Is there a " drunk tank" located somewhere in the boat for drunkened fools who get out of control while the boat is in motion, or are they simply thrown off the boat?  ha ha

Using pepper spray for people fighting is not police brutatility... look up the force continuem!  So the use of pepper spray when people were physically fighting is justified... I was there also and saw the subjects fighting, also through sober eyes!!!!

If people used common sense and didn't fight then they wouldn't get pepper sprayed

Here is what I witnessed last night, at the docks,  through sober eyes (driver picking up Goodtimes passenger)! I saw a few vocal confrontations, followed by over reaction by the police/Boat Security. This was a big area so I may have missed a physical confrontations, but nothing I saw or have heard of since I believe warranted the reaction by the local authorities. The pepper spray caused total chaos and made this situation expodentialy worse. I realize I am being very critical of the people that are paid to protect, but this had to be the wrong way to handle this situation. I do  have total respect for the police force and support them fully! This situation could have been caused by a lack of training, young inexperienced police, or a total lack of compentency/borderline police brutality.
